My sweet girl- forever loved

I've gotten so much interest about my art studio, so here's a little tour.

I started out in my basement, then I moved to my bedroom, and now I have a 900sqft art studio! It functions as a guest house, with a full kitchen and 2 bedrooms, and also as my art space.

Its a little rough around the edges, needs some finishing and definitely some new paint on the walls, but I absolutely love it! Each day I get to create in here is a perfect day.

It's always a perfect day when I get to work in my studio.
It might not look like much to you since the outside isn't finished.
But its one of my favorite places.
Its my calm. My peace. My "in the zone" space.
And it sure beats working at my desk in my bedroom.

So hey there...here's my long winded about me (cuz I tend to overshare).

These turned out so pretty, the background is a shimmery pink. So pretty when light catches it.

My Grandma's favourite flower. The pink one is for myself in memorial of her. 💜

Hello 2026☀️

I am excited to see what this year brings. I have so many ideas and projects I want to work on. One hard part of being an artist is having so many ideas, but knowing you can't possibly create them all.

This year I am leading with more intention and guiding my energy into what serves my highest self.
May this year have much growth for me!

A special gift in memorial of my Dad.
Those who don't know, my maiden name is Cardinal. The Cardinal bird has always been our family symbol, from Cardinal decor in the house to a Cardinal painted on our farm sign.

In October, my Dad passed away. The Cardinal became even more of an important symbol to me. There's the saying "Cardinals appear when Angels are near". The Cardinal bird represents my Dad wholeheartedly. Tied to him by name, and also now by what they represent.

Creating this piece was hard. So unbelievably hard.
Each time I sat down and worked on it, I cried. I had to take many breaks and pauses, and I had to sit in my uncomfortable grief.
It also at the same time brought me peace, healing, and love.
Not many people know that I am a very spiritual person. When I worked on this piece I could feel my Dad around me. It brought me so close to him. It made me feel loved. It made me feel like he was sitting there beside me watching me paint.

It has been the hardest piece I've ever created. Not by skills, but by emotions.
Sadness>grief>loss>regret>clarity>
acceptance>peace>love>strength

Little by little, it gave me some love and light.
And I hope it gives that to the person I gifted it to.

2025 was extra tough on me.

It started off with the loss of loved ones, loss of a close friendship, and then ended with one of the hardest times of my life: watching my Dad very quickly lose his health, and then passing a week before my 32nd birthday.

But the hardships I faced this past year do not erase the good things. There were so many positives and highlights this year. And 2025 showed me so much growth within myself.

I learned to let go.
I remembered I was worthy and just perfect in the way I am.
I learned to slow down and the value of rest.
I worked on my perfectionism, and remembered I am human.
I was reminded that I am not alone.
I made new connections that aligned with my values and sparked my soul.
I remembered to pour my energy into what serves my higher self.

And in the end I saw how strong I truly was.

A sweet girl who was part of the family for many years and sadly crossed the rainbow bridge before Christmas.

When I started this one I forgot to do the white background first, but I actually really like the wooden background.
What background do you like better?

💙Birds appear when Angels are near.

2 precious ornaments reminding us that our loved ones are always with us. These were very special and sentimental to make.
I love the little nature background in these ones. The BlueJay turned out to be my favourite ornament I've made so far, the colors and details turned out so pretty.

-I'm closed for orders now until the New Year, but I hope to create more special memorial pieces like these in 2026.

I take great pride and care in not only capturing your beloved pet's physical characters, but also their personality and their soul. Each and every ornament I have ever made means so much to me and I make them with so much love, as I know just how important they are to you. 💕

My little Christmas tree with my own handmade ornaments of my pets, and one in memorial of my Dad.
My tree is filled with so many special ornaments. Ones my kids made at school, ones passed down from my Mom's trees, photo ones, and angel's made from crafty relatives.
I don't care about having a fancy esthetically pleasing tree. It doesn't matter to me if the ornaments match or how it looks. My tree represents all the special things in my life, and that is what matters most to me.🎄💕

I can't believe how fast this Christmas season has snuck up on me. 🎄🎁

I recently went to an Art Show awards ceremony where one of my pieces received 2nd place in its category. While there I talked with some artists who's art captured me. It was so refreshing, inspiring, and exactly the type of conversations I needed. I left there feeling so warm, fired up, and passionate.
I really needed that. I had such big ideas this year but they fell flat. This year has been very heavy for me and my art has taken a bit of a backseat.
It was so nice feeling that fire again, even for just a day. My onward days will still be heavy, but I know my passion for art is always there and its ready to greet me whenever I'm ready.
When I look at this piece hung up in my art studio, I'm reminded of the emotions art brings me.
Playfulness, peace, joy, wonder.
Though they have been sparse lately, I know I will gain them back with time.

I got a new cute way of packaging my ornaments, I had to take some short videos to show you. I think they are so cute!

Celebrating my birthday early with my bestie @chennoat, at @blackstrap_glamping_resort.
We had the absolute best time! Hikes, long talks, board games, sitting by the fire, enjoying the saunas, painting outside, and so many laughs!
I got custom made cookies for the occasion done by @thecookiejar.yll, they were incredible and so cute!

Definitely a place I would go again!

I can't even fathom spending an entire day in my art studio, peaceful and quiet, with no interruptions.
No kids toys thrown all over, no Miss Rachel playing in the background on the TV, no little hands grabbing my art supplies.
No crying or whining.
No stopping to give snacks or a hug.
No balls thrown at me.
No "mum mum".
No cute smiles or giggles.

Sometimes I dream of that day.
But I know it will come soon enough. And one day I will wish for this back.

I wanted to paint the feelings of this moment. The play, the adventure, the pure joy and magic of being a child surrounded by the beauty of nature. The sun spots through the trees, and that sweet feeling of walking through the wild flowers and grass.

As school approaches that also means...
Christmas is nearing! (Half of you are probably dreading that word and the other half has probably started shopping already)
Its time for me to start prepping for my busiest season. Wooden slices need to be ordered and prepped, and my art studio still has to be put together...Oops.

This year I am hoping to be able to take on double the amount of ornament orders! 2 of my kids will be in school this year, so that means I only have my toddler every morning. I should, hopefully 🤞, be able to be more productive. But we will see how painting goes with a toddler at my feet.

*I will be increasing my ornament prices. I am awful for down selling myself. I like making things affordable for people. But at the same time I need to be able to pay for my materials, my time, my skill, and my worth. These aren't cookie cutter store produced ornaments, these are one of a kind hand made. Each ornament takes me far more time and effort than you'd think.

I will be tentatively opening orders Oct 1, and I will make a separate post on all the details.

A different style of custom pet portrait incorporating a beautiful landscape. I had so much fun with this one! I added texture to the snow, making the snow banks pop out more (my first time using acrylic gel medium), and I also added a little bit of snow glimmer. These are my two favourite styles of artwork: landscapes, and animals. I loved putting them together for this custom piece.

But let's keep it real, do mom's really ever clock out...

In this season of life I fit my artwork in when I can, and that usually means staying up till 2-3am. I try to quit at midnight...that fails me every night 🤦‍♀️.
I might not get much sleep, but I love my quiet nights creating and clearing my mind.

Its been a while since I have entered an art show (my first one was in 2018, before I became a mom).
This year I decided to enter again, and I was pleasantly surprised when my piece "Under Blue Skies" got awarded 2nd place in one of the categories 😁.
I can't wait to check out all the other art at the local art show in the fall!
